Key Impacts of the MECI Boys Program:
Boys attendance went from 50% to 80% average of attendance.
3 years of no violence indicent report to the Ministry of Education
Students in the fourth grade are competing in chess matches with students from the tenth grade.
Parents have commited to help Principal 'Azme expand the school's faciliteis to include new laboratories, computer rooms, and a library. Together they collected $50,000 from the local community to purchase land adjacent to the school where construction will begin soon on these new facilities. This is sustainability!
In a newly-implemented national test for 4th grade students, our students are scoring better than the national average. In Arabic, our average was 71% while the national average was 63%. For math, we scored an average of 70% while the rest of Palestine government schools averaged 45%.
Students are now staying in school until 4:30 in the afternoon. Students in the rest of Palestine are only in school until 1:30.
The Bani Zeid Boys Soccer Team won 1st prize in the Ramallah Principality competition in February 2013!
