OUR PROGRAMS
Due to generations of conflict in the Middle East, the future of millions of children, young adults and women continues to be highly uncertain. Their education, livelihoods and very future remain at risk as long as they lack the skills and hope to build a better future.
MECI’s unique model is based on three pillars proven to breaking the cycle of conflict within a community: Children’s Education & Wellbeing, Women’s Empowerment and Economic and Community Development. Our programs are developed and implemented to ensure basic needs are met while stimulating healing and encouraging broader community engagement.
We are currently operating 5 main programs, all based on a holistic approach to achieve healing while advancing academic skills. Each program is tailored to meet the group and individual academic, emotional, or psychosocial needs. This allows children to continue learning and playing in a safe space, young adults to pursue their education and women to enter into social enterprises that create jobs and generate income. Within a specific location, the programs are interdependent, and complement each other, to encourage broad community involvement and engage as many as possible to become positive agents of change.
