Our Model

Since 2007, MECI has worked to bring hope, education, and opportunity to communities across the Middle East.

Our holistic child-centered community development model focuses on:

  • Children’s education and well-being: academic support, psychosocial care, and 21st century skills.

  • Women’s empowerment: skills training, employment, and leadership opportunities.

  • community development: hiring and sourcing locally to strengthen local economies.

Every program is tailored to the needs of each community, ensuring local ownership, sustainability, and lasting impact.

Where we Work

West Bank

Since 2007, MECI has been rooted in the West Bank, starting with a pilot after-school program for girls at an elementary school in Beit Rima (Bani Zeid area). MECI has since grown into a network of six schools, serving more than 1,500 students from grades 1 to 11, with further expansion in Bani Zeid (to Nabi Saleh and Beitunia) already planned.

Over the years, MECI has continued to adapt and innovate to meet community needs. In 2015, the Girls University Scholarship Program was created to support promising but financially vulnerable students, later expanding to include young men; to date, 35 scholarships have been awarded.

In 2020, MECI opened the first internet café in the region, providing computer literacy to students, teachers, and mothers, and in 2021, it partnered with Muvik Labs to launch a digital breathing therapy program addressing rising anxiety and stress.

Most recently, in 2024, MECI expanded into Kufr Ein school, marking a significant step toward reaching even more children across the region.

Jordan

MECI established its Jordan office in 2014 to respond to the urgent educational needs of Syrian refugees and marginalized Jordanian youth.

Through remedial and non-formal education programs, MECI worked with schools and communities to reintegrate out-of-school children and provide a second chance at learning. At its peak, the program operated across 49 schools and reached more than 20,000 children and young people.

In 2022, the Jordanian Ministry of Education officially adopted MECI’s adolescent Non-Formal Education program as part of its national system, a landmark achievement that ensures sustainability and long-term impact.
