MECI Expansion To Kufr Ein
In these trying times, in which each day brings with it new challenges, we have a hopeful update to share: Starting this spring, MECI expanded afterschool operations to a sixth school in Kufr Ein village, a new partner community.
For months, violence and hardship have devastated the West Bank without signs of stopping. These events underscore the critical need for MECI’s presence, as the young ones we serve contend with mounting stress and trauma.
Despite great adversity, MECI has not only sustained but strengthened our impact, now reaching an additional 400 students in Kufr Ein to bring our total served to 1,600. These children have gained access to essential physical, emotional, and educational support — tools that empower them to thrive amid ongoing tragedy.
MECI Palestine Director Salah Daraghmeh called the Kufr Ein project “a beacon of hope,” where hope is increasingly scarce. “In a village often overlooked, this initiative not only brings essential services but also cultivates a spirit of resilience and progress among its residents” he said.
Hanan Maali, the principal of the Kufr Ein school, added: “Since the beginning of the program until now, I have seen students from all age groups participating with great enthusiasm. They have found a much-needed outlet for expression, allowing them to showcase their talents and creativity in a safe space.”
As MECI navigates this traumatic period, our mission to serve as many children as possible remains steadfast. Your support enables us not just to continue but to expand this essential work. Hanan and the entire community of Kufr Ein join me in expressing our deepest gratitude: "Thank you to everyone who supports and endorses our project, advocating for the rights of children and women to lead better lives," she said.
We appreciate your support of MECI's efforts throughout the West Bank.
Together, we can keep the light of hope burning bright for these children and their families.
