Internet Café

We are very proud to announce the opening of the MECI Internet Café this November 2020, bringing excitement and basic training in computer literacy to mothers, teachers and children in the remote village community of Beit Rima, West Bank. It will allow students with limited internet access to pursue their online education.

Despite all this year's hardship, MECI has succeeded to bring hope to the marginalized community by introducing 21st century skills through this initiative. The Internet café is hosted within the multi-purpose building of the local Deir Ghassaneh Women’s Association. The Women Association also provides the healthy meals to MECI’s school children. This partnership project offers a safe space to access the internet as well as empower women by providing them with job opportunities. 15 women are currently employed to prepare the meals for the students as well as managing the Internet café. MECI is their sole source of income. 5000+ meals were served in the 2020-2021 school year (meals couldn’t be served for the 8-month due to sanitary restrictions).
